i loves me a great looking build and our friends at field cycles know how to make a looker of a bike. upon first look you may think that this is an aluminum bike- youre dead wrong. this is steel, yo. the ovalized top tube was actually a reynolds tandem boom tube (bottom tube connecting bottom brackets), and the filet brazed welds finish off a smooooth looking bike. you can see more of this build over here.

the homeland of the philippines is going through some hard times so i found it apt to sare something from the area. rekta invasion was a little event that happened not too long ago. if you can remember, i talked about how the capital city of manila is the SKETCHIEST FUCKING PLACE to ride. these guys aren't riding slow, they're trying not to DIE. also doesn't help that it's a billion degrees celsius out there and the air quality is much like breathing through a diesel exhaust pipe. hopefully the country makes a full and speedy recovery so these riders can get back out there.

hella fast: gonna have a good day with andrew romashyna

saw this over at bike jerks and since i'm on that fast bike binge, i'm sharing it. after watching this i swear i'm out of breath. holy hell man, andrew is a train! those streetcar tracks made me clinch my bum a bit- i've had bad experiences with stuff like that... i don't know how he managed to not get his wheel(s) sucked into the eternal abyss street train tracks have. i've also never seen an all city thunderdome in action and it's safe to say that the thing looks good going fast.

one of the craziest builds that made it's way to the bespoked bristol show was donhou's big chainwheeled machine. this was seiously only built to do one thing and one thing only- go MAD FAST. it's great because donhou basically built this because they could. let's be honest, there's no reason for a bike like this to exist, but it does... and it puts a smile on my face. donhou's going to release a video of their attempt in the upcoming days and i'm looking forward to it!

earlier this march, the king of colfax went down in denver, colorado. this was a pretty brutal looking race due to the fact it's in a pretty brutal environment air and weather wise. in the end, there was one citation 2 broken forks, a bunch of crashes, and a jolly good time. props to the dudes that did this on cruisers. gat damn that looks difficult..

it's fast bike friday and ususally there's some sleek, proabably expensive, track bike out on here today. that's not what this is. south of the californian border is tecate, mexico. this kind of remeind me of when i first got my 2008 SE lager, burning through tires like toilet tissue. it was crazy fun in those days and these guys look like they're having a blast through the streets of tecate. this is essentially a preview for the tecate madness event in april which will have emi brown, mike chacon, and boothby all day visiting. if you're in the area (hell even you so cal people can make it out) you should check it out.
