i imagine it as a cape: the reload superluxe

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAqdP_id4eMTK_PzoGwiGjhBIQvAqKMolG6PqvBm4s9M_HIhEbvsreJ1N4gAQOkanC5AAX5xlauWmi2b6Sbx0o9lqGbi1QdYtdeXKmihaZji-rHKObcz2FLzKNKv5UVvPw-DFuOiaKpTQ/s1600/redgrayblack_super.jpg
(via REload)
look at this. it looks like a normal REload deluxe messenger.
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi42PnOTepONrlSljbthYfQmvIzpBhIfr7Q_OBEDAsgS6V9XC2apQl0dxh7AEixvN37vNtAhnvTDwxRaO2PjQ3nofoJYJ31zGrb5tzkwgY2kYOgPvkTc0qjZCwBJ5qns697PwW5EtemkUk/s1600/black_super-back.jpg
now look at this. this is the REload superluxe. instead of the classic single strap construction, they opted for the more versatile hybrid of their highly adjustable original strap and their new split known as the 2-1-5. in addition to that, the bag is now using a triple layer construction which adds even more waterproofing, as well as allows the bag to maintain a longer life by avoiding friction holes. oh yeah, and you cant forget the blinky light loop.

heavy duty stuff.

does this come in a wallpaper?: dvs x cadence @ orange 20

(via PC)

orange 20 bikes of LA recently put up their display of the dvs x cadence sneaker. looks pretty spiffy! gotta gets me a pair of them shoes... congrats to dustin again, man. you've come a long way.

jmik

the best mission workshop vandal review i've seen thus far.

some user error in the the mix, but come on- ariel's makes mistakes like any other human. comprehenive? yup. reassuring? absolutely. the best way to review a bag? maybe. sure is a ton of laughs.

jmik

the rza is all kinds of amazing.

if youre like me then youve been watching the x games. during the x games, these commericals popped up. seems like nike 6, love them or hate them, brought the rza of wu tang to do some commercials:

that last one is freaking awesome. i bet the rza's been in some moshpits in his heyday.

straight outta chackong: mic-lab splined sprockets

(via 14bike co)
i have a tree lite splined sprocket (just like everyone else) and i can honestly say that i really like the thing. the only other contender's i believe is the profile splined and.... well i think that's it. so these dudes in china thought, "there's not alot of alternatives, LETS MAKE OUR OWN." thus, this came out of it. these are the same guys who run handworks. not gonna lie, i'm sketched out knowing it's made in a place where they also make novelty rubber ducks. but then again i could be wrong that this could be the best thing that ever happened to fixed freestyle. they also have a frame and fork in the works too, check it.

jmik

stubby wubby: BMW flatrat

(via BMW)
i quite like these. with lengths of 35, 55, and 70 mm the flatrat is a good lookin' and versatile stem (that is, if you have a 31.8 bar). it's also 220-240 grams for all you weight weenies. in my opinion these look better than those thompson's everyone runs. again. everything is made in the usa, and it'll run you $95.

the last time we saw something for velorue was about 5 months ago. that doesnt mean the project is dead, it's just culminating into something bigger. but finally, a track bike (a felt tk2 at that). it's been so long since ive seen an edit with just riding- all this fgfs stuff was staring to become the end of me. more pleeeasee...

day and night: summerfix

here's what youu saw at summer fix for the moat part. actually, this is the first time i clearly see the wierd wall ride 180 thing wonka did. mslum busts out some pretty fast lines and scottgets a bear hug from jakob. looks like silly fun. and can anyone tell me why the hell jakob gets naked every time he's in an edit? kid at the end is priceless too...

and here's what you didnt see at summer fix. i think the highlight of these two edits is boothby aka squeeks. the grind to 3 looks easy too him. i dont want to ruin the rest because it's really good... oh and "micro dinh"?

six four rollin': chacon new edit

Michael Chacon NEW EDIT!!! from Michael Chacon on Vimeo.

remember that dude who did spinny tricks for days on his leader- well he jumps epic stairs now. what i really admire about chacon's steez is the fact that he flows both heavy hitting tricks and fixed gear specific tech tricks without making it seem like there are gaps (i.e. here's a 12 stair, now let me recover and do this 720 keo). it all makes sense. by the way, 1:20 on is just ridiculous. i thought "oh yeah, let me just hit theses two sets right now, oh you want me to jump off this roof? lets do another 2 sets!" damn...and the line at 1:48... makes me wonder how you can do all this without getting dizzy as fuuuuhhh... great stuff from the city they call long beach.

i met nikko at the shortyfatz hooligan havoc. kid is a fun dude to hang around with, and he's pretty damn good with a bike too- shortly after the comp skullyboom decided to send him some flow. keep looking out for nikko, he's on the come up forreals. oh and thes song, along with this pic is dope:

the monty by mission workshop

Monty Messenger Bag
(via MW)
okay okay okay, so i've held off buying a new bag for school, and i'm running the threat of using an old backpack for the fall semester. this one looks even more up my alley (i know i say that alot about mission workshop's stuff, but come on- it's utilitairian and doesnt look half bad). enter the monty; you already saw the huge shed and the no as big as the shed, rummy. the monty comes in with the dimensions of 16"w x 10"h x 5"d, that's more than enough room for a laptop, some tools and maybe a sixer, if youre lucky. still with the lifetime warranty and the all the fancy shmancy compartments and such- like any other mission workshop bag, you get every dallar you pay for and then some.

col du tourmalet

(via ifeellikealittlekid)
at 2,115 m or 6939 feet, the col du tourmalet is the highest acessible road in the pyrenees. it was also the stage 17 finish in this year's grand tour. neeless to say, it's a difficult climb. not only that, it's wayyyy harder when you're running a bike that isnt meant to climb. it's extraordinary that this guy would do the climb- on a charge plug of all things AND while wearing this sweet jersey:

bet the decent was ridiculously sketchy and fun at the same time... i'm expecting an edit soon, but in the mean time check out the snaps!

vamos a la playa: stuttgart to barcelona

stuttgart to barcelona, that's 1500 km. with alot of help from docici, these six dudes are documenting their trip though france and into spain.
Map
(via vamos)
i've been keeping tabs with their blog, and they're 5 days in. yesterday they were in dole jura, between besancon and lyon in france- so they're well on their way to their destination.

this looks like quite an epic journey, the weather hasnt been kind to them as of late, but i'm pretty sure the scenery makes up as a great payoff. keep tabs with the gang here. hope you guys have a safe trip!

jmik

aint nothin but a g thang.

7tGEA
(via bike jerks)
there's nothing to say here, really. it's just a whole lot of win. there's just too much going on.... why is he on a drome? why are his bars flipped? why is he pedaling with one foot? is that coffee or tea? wonder if he's reading the comics.... bet you he's gonna do a barspin with his feet.

jmik

ooh baby i like is raaaawww: eighthinch scrambler v3 preorder

(via eighthinch)
okay, so here's the deal. the v3 is pretty much like the v2 but with laser cut dropouts, a top tube gusset, and tabs for brake cable guides instead of braze-ons and raw finish. ive seen these things made into fast bikes, ive seen them get thrashed around. personally, it's not a full on trick setup, and it's not a full on "go fast" setup. it's an inbetweener like the l***** morde*** or the v***** cut***- it'll clear a 32c, 35c if your wheel is true. in any case at under $170 a pop (incl. headset and fork) this thing is a great first setup or even just an all around bike. check it.

oh and i'm loving the raw....

this friday in sf: pushbike release of cadence x dvs

this friday marks the release of the cadence x dvs sneaker. it's limited, but then again, it's a show that's built for riding a bike- something that doesnt come quite often already.

(via cyclehawk)
now in addition to the release party, there will also be a fundraiser for the velo city event happening at the hellyer velodrome in san jose. not only will the race on august 28 be cool, the top racers/couriers will be sent to guatemala for the cmwc's which, by the way is going to be brutal this year due to the fact that a good part of the race WILL BE on 1)cobblestones, and 2)dirt.

so come out, support track racing, cadence clothing, and bike messengers all in one event.

Long beach all points bulletin: the wizard's been jacked.

(via marwin)
marwin's pk was jacked at houghton skatepark this afternoon. it's hard not to notice - it's a proto.  the tubing is bigger than the current pk rippers, the chainring is a prototype, and it uses the newer version landing gear. the gusset should be a dead giveaway if you see it rolling around. it's a 49cm. so anyone in the long beach and even the so cal area be on the look out.

BOIKZMOIND Trailer from Xynthetic on Vimeo.

of course you freakin dont! we havent seen anything from gavin and the bristol crew lately. its like the trailer came out and then the project disappeared. i loved the trailer, and remembered it recently. so i set out and found some screen shots:
and some riding photos by tim ward taken quite recently:

oh come on, dont tell me you guys dont skid anymore. admit it, youve busted out a leg over skid within the past month.... AD-MIIIIIT ITTTT. makes you think about how much has happened since this trailer came out. it will (hopefully) see the light of day this fall. to keep tabs, join their facebook page. now excuse me, i'm gonna put my bullhorns back on and bust some high speed no handed skids down a hill.

blaq to school sale

sale
(via blaq)
technically that's not the name of the sale, but i thought it was funny. either that or i'm really tired. this is actually a really good time to get some blaq frs' or maybe a bag for whatever the hell youre hauling. i mean come on, you've been putting off buying a foot retention system for your platform pedals, admit it. seize the opportunity.

the return of the cadence doubles

http://www.cadenceclothing.net/collection/images/doublestraps/2_2.jpg
http://www.cadenceclothing.net/collection/images/doublestraps/1_2.jpg
(via cadence)
personally, as far as value goes cadence makes a mean double strap. i snapped somas and wore down all city v1 straps but then again they were inexpensive alternatives to the ridiculously priced toshis and mks doubles. i mean come on, we're not running a japanese drome here, but then again we're not riding bunny slopes- snapping straps sucks and it'll ruin a ride (and pose a safety hazard, foot retention is essential man). the cadence doubles arent cheap, but then again they wont cost you a bill (like toshi's). plus they dont have the tendency to become elastic-y like the alternatives. grab a pair before you regret it.

jmik

a little bit of confusion: adjustable aero bars

http://velospace.org/files/mmmmmmm.JPG
(via berlin fixed)
does anybody know anything about 1) this bike and 2) these handlebars. i'm on the fence with it. part of me wants to say FUCK YEAH THESE ARE MY KIND OF SHIIIIIT but then part of me wants to say why would anywone do this, if one side gets lopsided, how do make sure they're level again (it must be a bitch...) regardless of what i'm thinking it still looks like an awesome setup. peep the rear disc and the space between the fork and the tire: thing was made to go fast. props to whoever owns this machine.

jmik

hollywood get's it: Joseph gordon-levitt x GRIME

(via krillz)
OHHHHH SHIIIIT. forget that i previously said about this movie. completely disregard ANYTHING i said about this movie. in fact, just because that sticker is there, i'm going to see this movie. what i'm wondering is if that sticker has been there the hole time or if it was ninja-ed on there. if it was,  i'm sure the editors are going to have a ball with a random sticker showing up in the middle of filming. so what's joseph doing in the grime movie anyway? HAAAAAA

jmik

oh and i heard krillz is gonna be drinking in a scene or something. f yeah dudddde...

seat crazy: odysse aitken & senior

(via odyssey)
I have been riding the odyssey aitken for quite some time and originally i wanted the nightwolf version. mind you this was before all these fixed freestyle specific bikes came into play, and tecnical wise, a bmx seat is a seat that will almost never see an ass. however, the aitken is actually a comfy seat and it's shape is like a smaller turbo (it'll never be a turbo, but shape wise..). looks like the nightwolf version is back in teal.

but if youre a fancy schmancy pants you may opt for the senior. it's a little bigger and a little cushier. both have a railed version too!

jmik

what the friday.

okay, i think i have a general thing going on. it started with tarp surfing, i'm trying to milk this theme for all it's worth. and plus, it'll stop clogging all these browser tabs i have up.

(via zlog)
i saw this yesterday and came to the conclusion that the 80s were awesome for wierd, strange shaped bikes. this one's after my heart; i loves me a bike that could potentially leave your spine out of alignment. this led me to look up bikes that laurent fignon rode. didnt get far but i did come across this:

(via cyclinginquisition)
yeeeehhh buddy. miguel indurain, the dude with the funny helmet. no not that helmet pictured above, this helmet:

(via this flickr)
BLA-DOW! bet you didnt see that one coming. damn, the 80's looked like an all around awkward pseudo science experiment for aerodynamics. moving on from that, all hail the black market's got some new stickers that are wtf worthy.
newdecalsjuly202010.jpg
(via AHTBM)
i especially like the one referring anything being a torch. it's totally true. almost as baddass as robbie mcewen busting a wheelie across the line in stage 17:

(via tracko)
dude didnt even win the stage. he was 30 minutes behind shleck (andy, gotta make sure i say that). i'm just waiting for them to roll into paris so fumi beppu can pogo in front of the arc de triomphe again. speaking of getting tricky, looks like burd is back:

i'm surprised that no one has ever thought of that. a reverse mounted hop barspin. but then again it's burd, which is cool since i recently re-watched his part in bsv1- my how far have we come.

jmik

random friday: tarp surfin'

oh come on. you know that in your next edit your're gonna have a black and white tarp surfing part. you know how sick that would be at the right time of day, and the right kind of lighting? can you imagine a slowmo wheelie bar through a tarp in b&w macaframa style? sure it would take forever to film, but it seems damn fun.

i think i have tarps, whos got a camera?

(via benscycle)
this is kinda nifty galifty. as i try to implement more than the normal stream of fixed freestyle, i'm finding myself more and more interested with bike polo. i've watched, but never played. with polo becoming more accessible (which is a highly debatable subject in terms of being good or bad), i think i might be trying it out. here's something that can be really useful in general but built around polo use, the MKE polo fork. to point out the obvious, it's spaced at 120mm which is cool for not only polo, but would be great if youre doing long distance fixed/singlespeed riding. can you imagine the possibilities for touring with this thing, especially if youre running fix/fix (or free/free)? just a thought.

"Bruiser Polo Fork - Aftermarket
  • 400mm Axle to Crown
  • 4130 Heat Treated Chromoly
  • Weight - 1260g w/300mm Steerer

i loves me some shiny: eighthinch julian v2's!

    (via eighthinch)
if there was an upgrade that has the greatest value out there it would be swapping out to the eighthinch julians. that high profile look just got beefed up too with the addition of a third wall in the construction. this means less flex and a shit load of strength (the hplusson sl42/formationface doesnt even have triple wall construction, just sayin'). it kinda bums me out though, right when i finish polishing my wheel, they come out with a hi polished version of the julian. and you know how much i love shiny things. in addition to the exterior and triple wall, the price got knocked down to under $175 shipped. yeah, so instead of buying that high end wheelset, why not try these and try to beat the shit out of them? for the money, hell you could buy yourself 2 sets.
