up up up: red bull hill chasers in kuala lumpur

Red Bull Hill Chasers - Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur from Cycling Asia on Vimeo.
i really think it's a bummer that the only redbull event we look forward to on the west coast of the US is the ride n style event. lets be honest, that really isn't enough. originating in the UK, redbull's hillchasers event  was translated to kuala lumpur which i personally believe should be in the states one day. this event looks rad and i know exactly how to win the thing- those dudes on track bikes never had a chance! bring the right bike, win the event- simple as that.

sometimes its not about winning, but it is to be proud of your own bike, TQ

Sigh, if anyone had the balls to go up shirly meadows rd they would have a real climb in store. And for the record, track bikes will climb fast as hell it's called legs, training, and understanding gear ratios.

Also, if you can't spin a 170-180 cadence, work more on rollers or the track till you can climb like an animal on your track bike.

that's true. event though i know it would be smart to bring a specially built bike to this event, i think i would be more at home with my heavy geared track bike. =]

i agree. i will use my lightest track bike on this event but i will also change my chainring or cog to suit the challenge.

a bike with wide bars to pump, a spinny gear for climbing, skinny tires for less rolling resistance, and rigid frame and fork will basically do extremely well in this.

bikes set up like this also do well at minidrome events....
