american made: hold fast frames

(via holdfast)
i think a good handful of people remember that hold fast was making a frame. to be honest, the last time i heard about this endeavor was christina panteliodis' prototype dual 24" shown here from august of last year. apparently these will be made in 24", 26" and 29er form and will also be made right her in the you-nigh-ted states. they claim that it's going to be hella light as well, and it looks like they're producing forks too- an american made fork made for FGFS hasn't really been done yet (well i'm sure there has been, but it hasn't been well documented) so that will be plenty interesting.

iminusominiac: iminusd leftovers

iMiNUSD Leftovers 2012 from iMiNUSD on Vimeo.
the fam bam at iminusd always comes out with the good stuff. this one features an all star cast of devon lawson, jeffy diesel, blanco, mikey dinh, peyton schwarz, the young gabe, and matt montoya. it also features spots from the compound to the CCP. jeff is mad fast, peyton's little part was ill, devon's line with the nose, bar, feeb to smith was super steezy, dinh's compound footy is mad complex, matt's fakie bars are soooooo dialed, young gabe is crazy for a kid his age, and blanco needs a solo edit (forreals). oh and devon's last hitter was hella clean. just get to watching it.

two for one: christian musgrave + mikey dinh

Mike Dinh & Christian Musgrave Split edit from Christian Musgrave on Vimeo.
i did a facebook post about dudes who dont get enough spotlight and mike dinh was the first to respond- that dude definitely doesn't get enough spotlight. people kinda forget that he did one of the biggest barspins ever, and that he has that kind of steez that draws people's attention. check that feeble, then feeble footplant, then feeble footplant 180. creative as hell. then there's christan musgrave who also doesnt get enough recognition. that tire feeble and that line full of various grinds is super smooth.

just the guy i was talking about: sean coats 2

2 from Sean Coats on Vimeo.
i just made it verbal on zeh twitter that i missed the great shenanigans of the homie sean coats. he kinda dropped off the twittersphere and it seems like i was the only one that noticed. low and behold, he's still alive and on a destroy- just laying low to make a huge explosion in FGFS.

i just miss reading dumb stuff on twitter until i fall asleep. hahaha

pinning: LDG compound cog system

(via livery design gruppe)
the thing that bums me out about LDG is the fact that i dont have an RSS for them, so i'm constantly checking if they've updated their news section. but that's a blogger problem and you dont want to hear about that. what you do want to hear is that they have a new cog system  involving an adapter with pins that spins onto the cog area of a hub, and a cog that pushes into said pins. this kind of reminds me of the miche system that used a splined adapter. that one didnt get off the line, but seeing how cool this design is (i mean, it is LDG), i think this is going to be alot better in terms of design and popularity.

san jose + bmx: david seaborne by matt montoya

just because this is a fixed gear centric blog doesn't mean that i ain't got no love for BMX. this one popped up on facebook, and well... yeah so it does have a fixed gear relation. it was filmed by matt montoya (look you can see blanco and devon in the background) in a bunch of places around san jose! watch this, it's really cool.

jmik

strictly roots: ninjacats say, "hey dont die"

the ninjacats always come with the best stuff. in a world where edits are spanning 2-3 minutes, their joints go on for almost 5 minutes- and it's all action packed! of course oscar and sol go hard (and i wont spoil their stuff for you), but everyone in this goes insane! that threaded wheelie line was nuts. OH and anto but is a crazy ass dude (dude at 1:55)! a tuck no 3!?!? nutty! just watch this, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

jmik

from sacto to chico: cardiel x chrome

fun fact, i live in chico- in fact i live a few blocks away from the sierra nevada brewery, and i've been to the chrome bags factory (and yes, it's super cool). and yes, that bag is the bag i photographed on my visit to the factory. looks like he was accompanied by wonka, as well as corbin and colby of skylmt on the 100 mile or so ride (i can confirm this, it's about 100 miles). that's hardcore! be sure to check out cards' collection over here!

not a fanny pak: 19t kanggoo

(via 19t)
across the pacific, our buds at 19tooth are releasing a waist bag next month. dubbed the kanggoo and made in surabaya, indonesia, this bag features 1600D polyester contruction, reflectors, U-lock Holster, Plastic layer interior, and 3 pockets. at 10.2″ wide, 6.2″ high and 3.2″ deep it's more than enough room for carrying basic stuff.

hoodrat stuff with my hoodrat buds: MTS bike check

MTS - BIKE CHECK from GRIME BIKES on Vimeo.
mike schmitt just upped this bike check filmed by his grime fam, devon and christian hamrick. san jose's been under some really really scummy weather lately, so it looks like this was filmed in a dry patch right there. slams are always entertaining, but there are also some really clean hitters. shredwell 2 is coming and i'm more than hyped for that!

help a friend: Krys Blakemore recovery fund

(via eighthinch)
recently, eighthinch rider krys blakemore recently got into an accident and has gone through surgery since. she's unable to walk, work and ride her bike right now, but we in the cycling community can help her out. joe from 718 cyclery has set up a fundraiser to offset the medical cost, and our friends at eighthinch are offering a little incentive to donate- for every $10 donated that person will receive one entry into a drawing ($20 gets you 2 entries, $30=3, $50=5, etc.) for an eighthinch wheelset).

go donate now!

chuck testa'd: blb notorious trispoke

(via pristine)
you probably thought these here tripokes were hed 3, NOOOOOOPE! they're actually brick lane bike's next installment to their notorious line. they had a good run of notorious carbon clinchers, and now they're looking to go into tripokes. honestly, i know that these are made over in asia, but it's an alternative to buying a used hed that's possibly sketch.

fancy plus fancy equals want: feit x outlier "supermarine"

(via prolly)
as a former sneaker fiend, i'm very familiar with the shoecraft of feit handmade. looks like they teamed up with the fancy sportswear wrights at outlier on producing a limited run of sneakers. composed of supermarine cotton (which is super water resistant), this shoes features a cork and buffalo leather insole, a super grippy sole, and lined with french calf leather. there's more to these shoes, but if i list it out this blog post will be dumb long. they're preordering for $290 (which for a feit shoe is REALLY REALLY good), and are STUPID limited. check it out.

in video form: phil arellano, no call, no show

hailing from fresno, ca, phillip has been ripping through the internets. last time we saw the dude he just became a part of the spike parts flow team. looks like he's now putting his new stuff to work! his 3 taps and fullcabs are hella fast and his bike control is really impressive. i hope this is the start to seeing a bunch more from phil.

bespoke is a strange word: FGL visits 14 bike co & ted james designs at bespoked bristol

(via FGL)
you cant be at them all, so its nice to see coverage of shows you cant go to by people like fixed gear london.  bespoked bristol went off this weekend and 14 bike co was there as well at everyone's favorite frame builder, superted of ted james design. ted brought his "29gnar" which he finished welding the morning of the show and it's looks mad fun to ride. on the other side of the show was 14 bike co showing off their 14R as well as this super cool collaboration with continental tires.  if you know continental, then you know the significance of the ill paintjob!

curated for nerds like me: threadless bikes collection

i've been a fan of threadless for many years, and yesterday they shot over an email asking if i can help promote their new bikes collection. um, hell yeah i'll help out! this collection has 21 products (in the form of tees, hoodies, messengerbags and backpacks) with 13 new designs as well as some old favorites mixed in. you can check it all out over on their bike collection page.

stay tuned because tomorrow i'll have a contest coming up with the chance to win something from the threadless bikes collection!

you cant see me: profile mulville realtree set

(via profile)
finn zygowski posted this up this morning and i cant not post this. he and i share a strange obsession over camo, and i guess so does profile rider mark mulville. today profile released mulville's matte camo colorway for the spline drive chainwheels, RHD mini hubs, and mulville push stem. this brings up the great idea of having an all camo bike- HOW RAD WOULD THAT BE!?!

everyone, and i mean everyone: destroy woodward

Destroy Woodward. from Kenny Arimoto on Vimeo.
you can imagine how pissed i was when this dropped right when i had to leave for class. it's from la familia at destroy so i knew it was going to me stupid good. not only is it stupid good, it's getting me super hyped up for ride n style. i would comment and give a run down, but you'll just have to watch it yourself. oh, and i love TPC- spot on song choice my mains!

shouts to daniel, kenny, eagletron for filming this, and big ups to kenny for that last one.

down by the water: 209 cogs spring break edit

209COG SPRING BREAK EDIT from Michael Martin on Vimeo.
the 209 is at it again taking it to the park, the port, and the streets (YO!). this one has francis roque, tommy mao, and alex nunez. really digging the stuff by the port especially tommy's slow ass wheelie line, and the homie nunez got those 3's on lock!

dirt mcgirt: suicycle summer

Suicycle Edit// Leftover-Sommer-Footage 2011 from Suicycle Bike Store//Company on Vimeo.
this one came from TTv a while back and i meant to post it because i really dig the riding in it. the woodsy place looks hella fun to ride and i always love to see FGFS out of the realm of the skatepark. this one has puppies and a pretty gonzo ender. i really hope to see more from suicycle.

m83: bud abille by TLP x DV JRNLL

TLP x DV JRNLL presents BUD ABILLE from Dave Jaranilla on Vimeo.
i saw this a while back on lockedcog and thought i would post it up here. last time we saw bud, he was ripping streets with mashafix. here, he takes it to the hills of la habra which is bumming me out right now because it's super sunny in the vid, but super scummy outside right about now. M83 rounds out a cool vibe too!

jmik

put it together: leader reaper fork v2

(via mike chacon and PC respectively)
i know that leader is going to be dropping a bunch of stuff but i want to focus on this one. more often than not, the fork of choice for many riders out there is the leader reaper fork. it's been popping up on leader rider's joints lately, but still kind of shrouded in mystery- what's different about this iteration is that it's 1 lb lighter than the v1, and features 1 pc fork blades. what does that mean? the only welding on the fork is at the crown! hope they up the axle to crown to 420 rather than the previous 415...

jmik

that was a great movie: MACHETE slayer bars

(via MACHETE)
i know posts have thinned out for a minute, but i'm back and it's go time! it seems like there's a new FGFS company popping up every other week, and machete is the newest. hailing out of hong kong, the company's name comes from everyone's favorite robert rodriguez film... machete. anayway, these are composed of heat treated straight gauge tubing (4130 i believe), 29.5" wide, 4.3" high. with a 10 degree backsweep, and 2.5 degree upsweep, they'll have a pretty good feel- and they should since these bars are going to the LB dudes "free" antonyo and corey san agustin.

#shMob from Shane Hunt on Vimeo.

come in tribes: resist nomad 26

(via resist)
i loved running resist tires, and i just burnt through the one i had on my front wheel. though it was smaller than what i would've liked, and though there was no tread, i really really enjoyed that it could handle high PSI. anyway, the guys at resist dropped the 26" x 2.25 version in black and tan sidewalls and they can handle the same 80 PSI as the 700 x 45c's. people are gonna jump on these (pun, ha).

hype on hype on hype: chrome x grime shredwell 2 preview

there's been alot of hype going around for the shredwell 2 premiere. hard to believe that it's almost been a year since the first 10 minute edit which was mostly focused on the east coast. since then, most of the grime crew has located to san jose. what's going to be cool about the next iteration is the fact that it's going to be a west-centric theme and that it's going to feature a bigger squad.

jmik

making out with the sky: lane daniel's shred it local

Shred It Local from Lane Daniels on Vimeo.
lane's been around for a while and he's also from the south bay out here in california. dude's barspins are way on point- the lines where he's at san jose state are a testament to that. he barspinned UP onto a bench, and mine you, those are 700c's. anyway, lane's always ill and i think the guy deserve alot of props for the way he rides.

jmik

as it flows in: matt lingo at woodward west

(via recfail)
there is no denying that some sick stuff occured at woodward last weekend. one of those who documented this occasion was matt lingo of rec fail. the photo above has to be one of the most radical things captured in a photograph. matt couldnt have said it better; most of these guys are going to be in the ride & style event, so this set really captures what's going to go down. heard kenny arimoto and president boothby both have backflips... check the rest of the set here.

jmik

made it in: eighthinch bueller hubs with 14mm axles

(via eighthinch)
this morning i got an email from my friends at eighthinch informing me that they just got the 14mm axles for their freestyle focused bueller hubs. so if you've ordered the hubs already, your 14mm axle conversion kits are on their way. right now they're available for $99- front (female bolt!), rear, and 14mm axle kit. also, bueller wheelsets (26 and 700c) are going for $199, and the rims (which are eyeletted and super wide) are going for $34.50. i'f you're like me and you've been running a 14mm adapter for the longest time, you should hop on this!

jmik

i feel like i've seen you before: xlife 14mm 9t hub

(via xlife)
while on a quest to get a link for the previous post i came across this one from taiwan's xlife. this looked really familiar, but then something clicked- there's 2 14mm axled 9 tooth fixed hubs that are either in development or available. one is the Pfix's (which comes on pfix's), and the next is the upcoming resist contact hub (which is slated for april, by the way). this one looks alot like the latter with the exception of the female bolt-age going on and the vectoring out from the non drive side. look at it. they almost share the same hub shells!

the fact that this has female bolts might be more enticing though... just saying.

jmik

injuries suck: dave noakes is back

dave's been around here and there but he kinda dopped off after he messed up his wrist. the good thing is, he's all better and he's back on it with the help of xlife. wall ride over pool entrance was sick- actually, i remember seening this park all over the interwebs in terms of fgfs and it looks like a scummy fun place to ride. nice to see dave riding again!

jmk

everything everywhere: brick lane bikes' "la piovra aero"

(via pristine)
there used to be a time where bike builders were really concerned about aerodynamics, which resulted in really really phenomenal looking bikes. this frame by brick lane bikes is kind of like a throwback to that, but without the fact of it being decades old steel or aluminum. european construction with columbus tubing, filet brazed aero section up front, lugs, stainless dropout with tensioners and a wishbone seatstay. you can get a closer look over here.

jmik

break time is over: michael chacon for munitio

so i stepped away from my computer for a couple of hours, and since i left there's been alot of activity- take this one from mike chacon. i remember him saying something about this shoot with rory mcdermott, jonah kessel, and jamil gray. dude's really pushing himself out there grabbing spots like the earphone moguls munitio. props to him for having a consistent hustle!

THE JOTTA & CHOOSE CONNECTION from Academia dos Patins on Vimeo.
Joao "jotta" Carmo should be a name you recognize- he's a dude that quit FGFS to pursue a career in BMX. his reasoning was simple: he's damn good at BMX! looks like he linked up with his buddy and grime rider Ricardo Lino to film this one. lots of crazy going on, as well as some wickedly clean stuff.

gonzo grape: colin cable interview by wheeltalk

(via wheeltalk)
i know colin is one of the many people that keeps up with what's going on with BHSK and he got an interview with the wheeltalk dudes. he's been around in fixed gear as long as i've been around, and though he's been in the background for a while, he still can throw down. fun fact: the homie has great affinity for good beer. check it out!

pewpewpew: affinity x mĐ¸ÑˆĐºĐ° x lamour supreme kissena

Mishka Affinity 5 year bike from Jason Gallacher on Vimeo.

looks like the folks at affinity celebrated their 5 year anniversary with a bike designed by one of mĐ¸ÑˆĐºĐ°'s artists, lamour supreme. this is the first of 5 bikes painted by lamour supreme that will be sold through affinity for the kissena velo fund what's looking to bring an indoor drome to NYC. one good cause, two dope new york based brands, and one talented artist makes for one really ill bike.

jmik

earthquakey people: march edit with matt dizon

March Edit from Matt Dizon on Vimeo.
andy sparks sent this one over of his fellow nem pro rider, matt dizon. i'm really digging this dude's riding style- it can get smooth like the line at :56 or it can get really technical like the last few hitters. look out for this guy in the upcoming months.

jmik

gussets, gussets everywhere: spike parts' fallout cranks

(via spike)
you already know that i like posting up when the new stuff drops. all these fixed freestyle companies are really stepping it up, moving away from the stuff that is super standardized. the people at spike took some 48 splined cranks, constructed it out of 4130, and threw on pedal gussets. looks like the times are a-changin' since these will only be available in 175mm. pretty sleek lookin' though.

jmik

the fam: daniel torres by wheeltalk

(via wheeltalk)
Daniel is a part of that rare group of dudes who defy every-effing-thing in terms of riding. even though from far away his bike looks like it runs 26" because of the meaty tires and low profile destroy frame, you best know that the frame you see there is indeed running 29's. i've ridden that thing, and just lifting up the front end will give you the feeling of "wow this is pretty dumb". however, daniel rides that machine like it's half the bike that it is; not only can he get techy, but he can launch that thing easy.

jmik

spelled how it sounds like: mission workshop arkiv system bags

Arkiv System Bags // Debuts Spring 2012 from Mission Workshop on Vimeo.
i have a mission workshop shed. i bloody love the thing. it's huge, it's different, it's being beat to shit. we've seen a bit of the arkiv (pronounced exactly like archive?) system before on their advanced project stuff. i had no idea what arkiv was all about until this- it's a modular system that looks extremely easy to use and it also seems as if a whole new line is coming since none of these bags seem based of the older stuff.

dear mission workshop, i need this. like now. and possibly in shed form. thank you. =]

jmik

umm: globars by mitchell silva

(via bike rumor)
one of the things i like to do as a blogger is fund random stuff. i pretty much came upon this one while browsing the internets and though i see the look in your eyes that you want these, i will convince you otherwise. first off to achieve this effect, he cut slits into the bars which DRASTICALLY effects the the structural integrity of one of the parts on a bicycle that is torqued quite often. secondly, i dont think these will actually allow you to see that well over a good old fashioned light. i like the idea, but the design is potentially dangerous? i dont know, how do you guys feel?

jmik

on a diet: sadio spark hub light & hub guard

NEW SADIO SPARK Light hub. from SADIO TV on Vimeo.
is it just me or are other blogs overlooking all this cool stuff that's coming from the dudes at sadio. first they took their booster fork, slapped "light" at the end of the name, slimmed the tapers, and added a cool/questionable top cap; now they're slimming down their ever so popular spark hub by getting rid of the high flanges. probably not for the idiot dudes like me who like big boy wheels, but it makes alot of sense for the dudes who run 26's!

half full: ½ assed v.5

½ ASSED V.5 from 8Y8LURK on Vimeo.
this one was uploaded just minutes ago, and it marks the return of the half assed series by gus molina. this past weekend was woodward west's opening for fixed gear bike and alot of heads showed up. we're talking mckeag, chacon, kenny arimoto, JD, johnny coward, daniel torres, santos, boo-bee all day, steven plat, congee, and gus (of course). random dancing, and brutal-ness pairs well with all the nutty hitters all around. i'm sure this is the first of many edits that are gonna come from this weekend.

fixie blog community: kris lockedcog is a tad bit moist

a tad bit moist. from Kris *lockedcog* on Vimeo.
i got a twitter response from kris of lockedcog at 2 in the morning pointing out how OG we are. yeah, twitter is like random text messaging for bloggers or something. in any case,  i had this one sitting on my browser for a day or two and it has kris throwing down. yeah it's 30 seconds long, but it's got that strapless steez going on. watch it.

a history of peculiar nomenclature: the destroy thunder f**k

(via destroy)
before the destroy crew headed out to woodward west for that fixed weekend thing, the homie colin b snapped the newest creation by the dudes dubbed the "thunder fuck". yes, that's the name; no, it's not production... yet. what's cooler than the radical name is the gusseted wishbone seat stay! hopefully we'll see more of this machine soon!

DESTROY.

can we please give it up for sam clark and phillip for keeping these things going consistently? it seems like they have a new phil will joint every other week. not only that, there's variety in both the surroundings as well as the tricks that phillip throws down. was that a fakie nollie down a small set i just saw?

by the way, the beginning is not for the squeemish. i should have put that sentence in the beginning, huh?

STILL POUR V1 from Taylor Dwight on Vimeo.
taylor dwight AKA slaylor and his crew of misfits in portland (devin tolman, robert gaines, and dan zatarian) are really coming with it in this one. they're calling themselves the "still pour" group, i really want to see more from these dudes and the whole portland scene. so much random tech from taylor, and some solid riding from these new dudes! i seriously dig this one because of that.

"T19 Skateboards & How I Roll" Video from Tsutomu Murofushi on Vimeo.
aaaannnd i'm back! though you're probably expecting fixed gear content, i just wanted to start off with what monty python would say "something completely different". T19 is a skateboard company/crew/thing based out of japan that i'm quite fond of. looks like they teamed up with a company that's no stranger to fixed gear, WLineDistro. why is this video here? i dig old school cruisers, and since there's a new school cruiser in this, i'm obliged to post this up. pretty fast paced awesome-ness going on!

Joe Mckeag for Heavy Pedal from Jake Lanich on Vimeo.
if you didnt know, joe and jakob came up for the NAHBS weekend to get some sacto filming down. joe was sporting his heavypedal swag hooking up with some locals to get down some clips while i was inside the convention center walking my feet off. looks like he got together with our friend and sacramento ripper jake lanich to film this one. damn joe is getting pretty tech, and it's not like it's choppy with his huge 3's and 180's, it's super slick! watch this.

public transit: massan's low

(via LOW)
there's so much going on for this; first off it's a low pursuit, quite possibly one of the more beautiful frames made right here in the bay area. second, it's massan's, so it's going to be used HARD. thirdly, the paint job is directly inspired by the modern MUNI transit. all together, it's a bunch of awesome in frame form.

jmik

jakob santos did this: urban velo's disgruntled reader

(via urbanvelo)
this caught my eye this morning and since it involves a burro ad with our brother jakob santos. i side with urbanvelo on how this was handled:
"Apparently this former Urban Velo reader has never seen anything more disgusting than this man’s middle finger before—not even the mangled bikes and the tale of a hit and run drunk driver on the opposite page. The rest of us human beings have seen far more disgusting things than the middle finger, for instance the graphic death wish of this former reader for finding a photo distasteful."

hell yeah urban velo and hell yeah jakob & burro!

jmik

taper it down: sadio booster "light" fork

(via sadio)
i love my sadio booster fork, and if you didnt get to see what i had to say about it, you can check it out here. the booster fork already bosts a tapered leg, but it looks like they're slimming it down with a diagonal cut. they're also implementing a coin screw integrated compression bolt- kinda gimmicky but its not going to stop me from wanting one (by the way, sadio if you're reading this, send me one!!!).

its raining so i thought this would be appropriate: full windsor kickstarter

i got an email a couple days ago that kinda went under may radar due to the sunny days and school work, but now it's raining and all my schoolwork is out of the way so this probably the most perfect time ever to post up. there are alot of good things on kickstarter, and there are alot of "meh" things- this would go under "this could change both your and my life" things.

full windsor is a company based in the UK looking to expand into the US. these fenders seem perfect for a guy like me since i dont have mount on my bikes for fenders, and i find the alternatives quite silly and somewhat bulky. get to their kickstarter and give them your money. GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!

Ninjas in Paris from Ninja Cats on Vimeo.
that first hitter! trippled down: zlog x csk's wintermute

ZLOG - WINTERMUTE from ZLOG on Vimeo.
whaddaheodoo? this is the third joint from the pacific northwest on the front of this page. that being said, CSK and zlog are seriously putting in work. this one's got the usual suspects like t. johnson, zach, chris clappe, and j. ruff, but it also has kareem and nelson bell in the mix. first off, tyler tweeted something about chainless and now it all makes sense here. secondly, i really dig all the random tricks- sole slides, full on bar slides, and some pegless fun.

it's not a fanny pack: chrome x cardiel shank

here we are again talking about cardiel's collection for chrome. the last time we were talking about this, it was for the operation ready pack. this time out we're focusing on shank, and though you would love to call it a fanny pack, it's a "hip pack with an integrated belt". regardless of what's socially or politically correct, it's a really cool looking bag that's super functional.

locals at home: saturday sessions

Saturday Sessions from Daniel Le on Vimeo.
first off, i live a couple blocks away from this school which (back in my day) was famous for being a great skate spot. i wish i had FGFS instead of skateboarding at these dudes' age, i wouldve been mildly decent- dont let their age fool you, these guys are riding EVERYDAY, and i want to commend them for doing so! by the way, my age is really showing because i was expecting this song to come on instead... man, i'm aging.

get me out of here scotty: edinburgh for the ECMC

** ECMC ** Edinburgh ** 15-17 June MMXII ** from Somhairle MacDonald on Vimeo.
i know scotland is a beautiful place but damn does it look rough to ride! the european cycle messenger championships are going to be located in scotland's capital city of edinburgh, which according to the description provided on the video, is "a massive area of wasteland to call home with closed roads, a beach, some sort of power plant and the largest collection of plastic bags known to man." seems legit!

doubled up: CSK & Zlog's If It's Not Broken, Make It Better

If It's Not Broken, Make It Better from Ruffian on Vimeo.
i know i'm doubling up CSK and zlog joints, and i know i'm a little late to the party on this one, but this should be a testament to how hard the dudes in the PNW are going right now. no music, just some randomness, moments that make you go "OH!", and moments that make you go "oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-no-no-no-no!" man, seattle looks like a fun ass place- there's too much conflict in california, someone ship me north.

the other pili: shred's laurent pili

SHRED introduces Laurent Pili from Shred on Vimeo.
i missed the boat on this one that came out a few days ago from the shred crew. i'm really digging this dude's style- it's as if everything he lands is stomped with an exclamation point, especially his 180's. look out for that ender though! 360 tire bitch slap!?! that's super steezy!

coincidence: finn zygowski

Finn Zygowski from Great White North on Vimeo.
i find it kind of funny that i'm wearing my great white north shirt and this drops. we havent seen stuff from the dude's north of the border lately and this one serves as an announcement that they're still way active. this is the stuff i love- fast paced big wheeled weirdness that only a guy that like finn could throw down. 1 footed pedal grind HELL YEAH BUDDDD!

bhsk goes places: NAHBS 2012

Photobucket
let's be honest here, i'm no john prolly. i got a media pass to NAHBS this year since it was in my neck of the  woods- i'm going to warn you here, i took a different approach and just took photos of stuff i was around and liked. i'll also warn you that i'm GARBAGE at taking indoor shots and i know i should've rented a flash. in any case, i had a blast hanging with everyone while i was down in sacto. get a look at the rest of the photos and some stories after the jump!

um, edvald the pro cyclist?: FTT edit #3

FTT edit #3 from Thomas Larsen Røed on Vimeo.
this one came to my attention when bike snob put it on his friday quiz. in anycase this one comes from the home of black metal, norway. FTT has been under the radar for a good while, and now their back with a bunch of people including pro cyclist edvald boasson hagen AKA eddy boss. though his choice of bike was questionable to say the least, there's alot of really fast riding in here.

premium, like that movie: state bicycle's premium line

(via state bike co)
i saw this pop up on the heavy pedal and i feel like the fastbike/trickbike ratio is getting a little uneven so i'm gonna post this one up. i know i've said something about their FGFS offering, but this one looks like a good starting fast bike. state bicycle took the wolfpack hustle marathon crash race last year so with this, i'm guessing they're the ones to beat with these new steeds this year. at around $650, you can get one of these well equipped machines.
