bonus feature: AFC Uproar best trick contest.... in gif-o-vision

Photobucket
oh hey world. first off i want to apologize for my lack of posts. but i'm back hammering your face with some more AFC: Uproar 2012 coverage. here's a story kiddos- while i was shooting this comp, i thought i would change it up this time. i do alot of photo coverage of stuff, but it gets repetitive to me... so i started doing sequences. there's more to this story, but you can get it after the jump!

of course, i never thought this one through. what the hell would i do with sequences? i would have to stitch them all together and shit gets messy and blah blah blah. then i thought- well hey, i can make everything into animated gifs. and yeah, the intention was to give this to TTv because TTv is the shit and that dude thieth loves a good gif (he also likes seeing people eaTT shiTT).  clearly, i didnt think that through and i found out the hard way that making a gif was tedious-ish. ANYWAY, here we are now with a good stack of animated gifs from the best trick contest.

during practice, matt reyes was pulling the wall-wall-180. then during the best trick contest he tweaked that into a wall-wall-3

jakob didn't get his trick in within his time/try frame, but after everything was said and done, he landed it.... a crooks to bar. i wish you could've seen the look on his face. dude is so determined.

derek salvador was going for the hangover across the rail.

ANTHONY COMBS IS THE BEST. dude is a homie, and hes a crazy dude. he could've half assed it and landed, but he's the type of dude to go full assed even if it doesnt yield results. he's gonna land a full assed superman, i guarantee it.

i know alex AKA jaja wasn't doing the hardest of tricks, but you have to understand the timing and the drop of what he was doing. landing to flat off that box is unforgiving and rough. big ups to the homie.

james vanotti was really putting it on the table- he was going for a 180 fakie feeble down the box. he aimed really high and that's what we need in this sport. dude got close too, but he took one to the back of the head after that first gif you see up there.

johnny coward was going for a 180 bar off the box...
Photobucket
full face boothby was aiming for something different but came off with this feeble footplant off the box.

tommy mao, the casualty of the contest. dude is one of the best young riders- he was aiming for a double peg to hang over which is mad difficult on something like the rainbow rail. he took one over the handlebars and ended up going to the hospital for a broken finger. heal up my dude!

jeffy d won the contest with this one. that box gets LOW and you gotta understand that the 180 had to be done at the right moment or else you just kinda... roll off the box. the trick was excellently thought out and executed, a well deserving winner.
