WANT: radioshack/mellowjohnny's tour de gila kit

(via tracko)
dude, this really reminds me of hot dog on a stick. the retro styling gets me, maybe it's because there used to a huge influx retro coming on through the past decade (retro jerseys, retro styled cars, the immense interest of old road bike restoration blah blah blah). i'm really diggin it. all i need is a porno moo-stäché, and 80's speedy looking sunglasses.

Retro is the new, new: FSA Felice Gimondi crank

(via velonews)
when sugino brought back the shape of the super mighty's i was ecstatic. when ird came out with their classic cranks, i flailed my arms and ran around happily. this one makes me more excited. this thing will retail for about a bill, and seems like a 130 bcd crank. i could do without the purple chainring bolts though. now if the old suntour superbe track stuff came back, i know alot of
people who will go ape shit...

Lost a little bit in translation: Carnival original frame

(via carnival)
not much info on this one. all that's in the blog post (translated) is this:
"SHOP
CARNIVAL ORIGINAL item today is the release of any treatment!
"
hmmmm. it looks really clean though... i wanna see the full product...

minature massive video post: bails, beaver, and bass

The CGK :: Auckland at night from Hale Lawrence on Vimeo.

i'm not really into dubstep, but i know alot of people are. but i do like remixes, and though it was annoying in it's heyday, a milli was a catchy song. now for the chain gang kids, they have pretty sick rides. i love night rides, but the weather in chico has become so unbearably unpredictable. that, and i need new lights...

Spring Edit from Beaver on Vimeo.

lot of good lines in this one. beaver and the crew have been hitting it hard, first that gnarpark edit and now this. the ridiculously close call at :58 was sick! sean's section though short is solid as well, but then josh's fakie stair ride made me lose it a little , made me lightweight terrified. something tells me one of these dudes will pull off a fakie pedal grind... oh, and watch it till the end- GNARLY.

Fail from 2020films on Vimeo.

i recall someone saying that airs are the new 26" fixed freestyle peg grinds. if that's the case, bailing is the new landing? i dont know. i'm really sleepy.

i saw these guys on a commercial for the pepsi refresh project. i thought they were interesting- the commerical was more elaboarate on tv though. check them out!

functional uselessness: CCP hairnet

okay..so this is borderline silly.

(via chari)
okay, it's really silly. but come on you know you've been trying to find a cask style helmet. you hipster ass you. it wont save your life, but when youre bleeding from a brain hemmorage, you'll look cooler then those dudes who participate in tweed rides. *note, it's not really a helmet. it's a "HAIRNET".

remember when T19 was a skate brand? T19 x GOrilla

when i was a sneaker junkie i recall that the t19 dunk hi's were the sneakers i wanted to skate to shreds.

unfortunately, i could never get my hands on a pair and my shimizu's ended up skated to shreds (which is breaks necks and makes hypebeast cringe)... actually, i dont even think i wear any of my nike's anymore. i've been wearing these chrome shoes since they came out the box....

ANYWAYYYYY... a few years ago the t19 crew moved onto bikes. and well, i have to say, t19 is on the ball with taking up with gorilla to collaborate.
so i'm only going to post one of these because the detail pics are taking forever to load up:

When we were in Tokyo last autumn we met Otaki from T19 skateboards: More than one year ago he was one of the first who showed interest in the Kilroy (prototype model, back then). So we took the opportunity to meet up with the man behind that skateboard brand: We loved the Hamburger Tank and the T19 blue and decided to do a collaboration. The first frames will be available in July, orders via hello@t19skateboards.com

i want to see a grime edition gorilla. FOREALS BRO. but this this will suffice- i actually like the colorway...and the hamburger tank that reminds me of stitch of lilo & stitch if youre not looking... just putting it out there.

CHEE-HOO: tanner's aloha fixed edit.

Tanner Monmaney 4-27-2010 from ALOHA FIXED on Vimeo.

so usually every time i post an aloha fixed edit i either:
a)talk pidgin kine story
or
b)gripe about how i should have gone to school in hawaii instead of chico. then realize i wouldnt be here today griping about how i shouldve gone to hawaii had i not gone to chico- i wouldnt have gotten a bike. so...

there's alot to take in on this edit- tanner is an explosive force to be reckoned with and is one of my favorite riders. plus he smashes on an se pk ripper and you should already know how i feel about SE. i know, i'm biased, so sue me. anyway the next time i go back to waipahu (which will probably be this summer) i will definately hit up the alohafixed guys for an interview or something. that, and hit up some zeepeeeeeyzzzzzz CHEEEEEEE HOO!

for the big dudes: durcus one/w-base stylin' frame in large

(via prolls)

no one makes a big guy frame. you would think that there would be a size for bigger dudes, but it's really slim. finally, big dudes can ride out- i wanna see how big this thing really is though... regarless i want to see big dudes ripping on this shit.

macaframa in new york

Macaframa New York Trip from MACAFRAMA on Vimeo.

so last week ted shred asked if i wanted to go to sac to film an edit with the macaframa crew tomorrow. to put a cherry on top of that, theyr'e also filming with the reason why i run spitfire classics- cardiel. now, ususally i dont say no to ted, but my school comes first and unfortunately i wont be filming. it sounds like a dream too, i mean when i first started out i watched ted's 2007 edit for BFF, and cardiel is just...CARDIEL. if only they had filming on tuesday. =\ oh well, there's always next time- here's an edit of macaframa's recent trip to new york.

everyone loves superted.

(via 14bikeco)
so ted has his fixed gear london shirt, and now he's going to have a new logo. it's safe to day that superted is one of the most recognizable faces of the fixed gear world. and ou cant go wrong with the stache either. everyone loves that stache.

today i got a visit from billy from mission workshop- he had done chico's wildflower century in just a little over 4.5 hours. that being said, i personally know that mission workshop had bicycle enthusiasts as well ad great people behind the brand. with the grand opening of the retail shop in sf, mission has been on a roll. chari recently went to investigate what's going on at the store, and gets a pretty solid interview as well. cant wait to get mine...

SLUM WORM GETS SKETCH IN SJ.

Slum Sessions at Stone Gate from Matt Reyes on Vimeo.

when i saw the title, i instantly knew that that was the stone gate i knew. that park is SKETCH. this dude is ridding a sketch setup as well- i would never bunnyhop a leader after seeing all the devastating BB problems they have. ive seen the bottom bracket blow out, right off the frame. then the top tube gave and well, it was a gruesome sight. props for riding stonegate though, havent seen that place in what seems like forever. SAN JOSE KNOWS.

screw 26'er fixed freestyle. RUN 29 INCH WHEELS WITH 46c TIRES. being the spokesperson for alternative wheels (remember when he got alex g6000's over the velocity chukkers?) torey's got the right idea. good lookin' bike duder! damn those tires are beefy.

IT'S OUTDOOR DROME SEASON.

Nationals day 2 mini edit from ken adams on Vimeo.

after watching this i could not be more psyched for the hellyerites. if you dont know who the hellyerites are, they're the people who ride the hellyer velodrome- and guess what? it's track season! yuh-hup, sweltering heat while doing heats! this video has such a cool vibe- and you get a look at a crazy dog fight during a run! intense stuff happens on the drome, and it's slowly getting me hyped for 2012's olympics.

IT'S DROME SEASON!

if you dont like looking at illegal activity, look away now. but if you dont mind seeing mind-blowing tricks with a little bit of that sticky icky ("oo-WEE! Put it in tha air... you a fool for that one dre!" if you dont knwo what i'm alluding to then... i dont know man...). i know this may be a little over dramatic, but i believe the grime bloodhounds are the BEST out there right now. whenever they come out with an edit or some new shit, i cant help but get excited!

GET GRIMEY FOOL.

things i find interesting: 10 cyclists you should know

i like this. alot of newly appointed fixed gear heads dont know alot about cycling history aside from lance armstrong, so this is a small crash course on who's who. in addition to that, you get a glimpse of what a REAL bike and a REAL cyclist looks like.

like this.

or this.

and obviously this.

so i dont know how i missed this: Livery Design Gruppe Pursuit Frame

Pursuit Profile
Pursuit Brakebridge
Pursuit Forks
Pursuit Dropouts
Pursuit Midnight Blue
Chain Tensioners
(via LDG)
i dont know how i missed this because usually i'm the first one to pick up on something like it...

"This new double butted Reynolds Chromoly beauty was designed for
dual 700C's, making this an excellent choice for the street without the
neck breaking angles of its predecessors.  Dropouts come standard with
built in chain tensioners and Livery's standard three coats of clear
providing an unmatched opulent finish.  Available now at Livery
for $599.

Shown in:

-Red w/ Yellow Pearl Flakes

-Midnight Blue Sparkle

-Silver Pearl w/ Orange Tinted Flakes"

i wish i could see the detail in the silver one's paint. anyway, the fork on this this is SIIIIIIICK- super fat up top, skinny on the bottom. to give you an idea of how these look:

PURSUIT GREEN SPECIAL EDITION

PURSUIT GREEN SPECIAL EDITION CLOSEUP

RED PURSUIT PROFILE

RED PURSUIT CLOSE UP CNC QUILL

LDG is on FI-YAH i tell you. ON FIIIIIIIIYYYYYAAAAAAH. look at the polish on those wheels on that second bike! i should not that the first bike was on 650c's and the second was on 700c's- both look...AMAZING.

got 20 bucks? you have a polo mallet!

http://www.eighthinch.com/images/products/500h/mallet-01.jpg

http://www.eighthinch.com/images/products/500h/mallet-02.jpg
(via eighthinch)
HDPE Plastic, 19mm shaft insert, cut lines if you're one of those people, 2 replaceable end caps, and it comes with all the hardware! and for 20 bucks and an old golf club, you really cant beat that with a bat. or a polo mallet. (bad joke... i know). now you dont have to go off and climb telephone poles for that good stuff. i imagine that since this came out as well as the MKE mallet came out, polo might explode onto the scene. kinda exciting, but i know that there are polo heads who dislike the idea of a semi mass produced mallet... anyone agree? disagree?
